Hello, Still Alive! Updating Site Soon

I apologize for abandoning this blog lately. I was very (happily) busy with new teaching obligations at Holy Apostles and Kolbe Academy this academic year, running Catholic Stand with a wonderful group of writers and editors, and trying to help my hard-working husband stack enough fire wood to keep us warm as the snow piled higher than our windowsills. We’ve had a fruitful year of homeschooling too, but don’t take that to mean I didn’t have the usual February meltdown.

I plan to update this entire site soon, but it will no longer be a blog. I am going to be teaching more next year and working on two new books. I want to tell you all about it, especially those who may be interested in taking one of my Chemistry or Physics (yes physics!) classes, so I will post updates and information here, just not essays.

Am I still writing essays? Oh yes, I have been writing once a week with the excellent group at The Integrated Catholic Life™. I love what they do, how the writers and the editors, Randy Hain and Deacon Mike Bickerstaff, inspire and inform the readers with practical tips to integrate faith, family and work. They stay out of the daily fray of current events and controversy. I would be most grateful if you would follow my weekly “Faith and Science” column over there. I will continue to publish at Catholic Stand and Strange Notions as well.

If you use these social media platforms, please interact with me on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with our daily life. I have made so many friends through social media—real friends, people who are part of our lives, who visit our family, who call us up on the phone, who watch the kids grow up through pictures and whose kids we watch grow up, send us gifts, receive gifts, pray for us and ask us to pray for them, and mentor me in my work.

Speaking of the kids growing up, here’s a shot we took after our shopping trip last week to get us out of the snowed-in cabin. It was the first time I took them shopping and let them pick out their own clothes like big girls. They were born so close together, I never had the time nor inclination to let them pick out their own clothes, which is why I have so many pictures of them in matching outfits. (Matching outfits = presorted laundry) What did they do when it came time to express themselves individually? They all wanted jeans and jean jackets like Mommy. Is this what they mean by “Feminine Jeanius”? (H/T David Roney and Melody Williams on Facebook for the play on words.)

More later! Thank you all!
